Cost in USA is an independent local-service cost guide operated by Open Skill LLC. We help you understand common service scopes, billing units and planning ranges before you request a written quote.
Start with the city, then check the scope
We organize guides by state and city. Local prices come first where usable references exist. Nearby-city, regional and national sources are identified as references, rather than presented as measured citywide rates.
How a guide is prepared
AI assists with research and drafting. An administrator reviews the content, price assumptions and sources before publication. Price-page references and quoted excerpts support research; an excerpt match alone does not verify a provider, service coverage or the complete cost of a job.
Compare the work behind the number
Our tables distinguish units, included work, materials and additional charges. A labor-only starting price and an installed project estimate are different things. Planning figures are not a contractor quote, property inspection, guaranteed saving or proof of availability.
Your next step
Use a city guide to prepare better questions, or organize the work in our project planner. You do not need to provide contact details to read the guides or view a plan. Provider matching is not currently connected.
Geography and sources
City and community names, approximate population references and location lookup use GeoNames under CC BY 4.0. Postal names do not establish municipal boundaries. New York City boroughs are identified as boroughs, not separate municipalities.
