Cost in USA is operated by Open Skill LLC. This notice explains how the guide, project planner and editorial workspace handle information.
Your selected area
You can choose an area manually or allow browser location. Coordinates are matched on your device against a locally served GeoNames dataset. Our location code does not send precise coordinates to the server or an external geocoder. Your selected city and state are saved in browser storage. Location does not confirm provider availability.
Project planning and optional AI
The planner processes your description, selected service, city and optional photos to prepare a private planning report. If you expressly choose AI assistance, your description and resized photos are sent through OpenKeys to the configured Gemini model. Photos are decoded and re-encoded to remove embedded metadata, processed in memory and not retained in our project database. The AI service providers' processing and retention terms also apply. Please avoid personal or sensitive information in descriptions and photos.
A necessary secure session cookie ties a draft and report to your browser. Reports expire after 24 hours; expired project records are removed on subsequent planner requests. You can delete your private project from its report. Phone verification and provider delivery are not enabled, and the public planner does not accept an inquiry or publish your report.
Forms and reviews
Review posting, verification emails, newsletter subscriptions and contact-message delivery are not currently available. Those forms do not send, save or publish entries. No development reviews or test verification codes are published.
Editorial administration
The restricted workspace stores administrator account details, password hashes, session records, content, source research and editorial history. Passwords are not stored in plain text. Essential secure session cookies protect administrator access. Content-generation requests use report context and public research references; administrator passwords are not sent to the model.
Hosting and browser storage
Our server receives connection information when delivering pages. Routine website access logging is disabled. Operational error logs may contain IP addresses and requested paths and follow the server's rotation policy. Browser storage remembers your selected area, notice preference and optional checklist dismissal. No advertising or analytics trackers are active. Use “Reset saved preferences” in the footer to clear these preferences.
External resources and your choices
External providers operate under their own privacy notices. We do not add your name, email or coordinates to their links. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising through this website. You can browse guides and read costs without providing contact details. Contact collection and provider sharing remain unavailable until their operational channels are configured.

Place names and ZIP references are adapted from GeoNames under CC BY 4.0. City population references use GeoNames; retained historical county reports use the U.S. Census Bureau. These references do not establish property boundaries or provider coverage.
